At PLT Health Solutions, our awareness of the need for equitable, sustainable business practices has grown out of a 70-year concern with human health and well-being – delivered via the plant-based and botanical solutions that we bring to market. Sustainable practice comes naturally to us, and we realize it is necessary for our success.
The PLT People+Planet™ Initiative has been established to expand our sustainability efforts on behalf of both environmental and human issues – going beyond our everyday activities of promoting human health and wellness. This initiative supports and is guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by all United Nations Members States in 2015.
Around the world, PLT engages in efforts to support the sustainable growing, harvesting, and processing of the raw materials that go into its ingredients as part of our PLT360™ initiative. This work includes supply chain reviews of ethical sourcing and environmental protection activities.
Many of our innovation and manufacturing partners are leaders in this area because they realize that environmental protection, sustainable planting and harvesting, natural resource stewardship, green processing, and a good living for their workers are essential to the continuation of their business in the future.
This initiative supports and is guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by all United Nations Members States in 2015. We look to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework to guide our activities in sustainability. Our specific People+Planet™ programs occur in areas where we feel we can make a significant impact or have particular expertise. We have set specific goals for our work in these areas to maximize our impact.
PLT is a company dedicated to helping people live healthier, happier lives. Beyond our day-to-day business activities, PLT supports groups dedicated to UN Zero Hunger and Good Health and Well-Being SDGs. We also engage with Literacy and Math programs supporting the Quality of Education SDG to achieve our impact goals.
PLT has established partnerships with organizations including the following:
Vitamin Angels helps at-risk populations in need – specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five – gain access to life-changing vitamins and minerals. PLT has partnered with Vitamin Angels to enhance the deployment of these critical nutrition interventions with a goal of reaching over one million women and children by 2030.
The Interfaith Food Pantry, established in 1994, is a non-denominational, non-profit organization that provides supplemental and emergency food to people in need throughout Morris County, NJ where PLT is headquartered. PLT has supported the IFP for several years and is proud to expand its efforts as part of a diverse effort by PLT to help deliver over one million meals to people in need by 2030.
MINDSPARK is an adaptive, digital literacy and numeracy learning system that accommodates the huge differences among students with varying degrees of proficiency. PLT has partnered with MINDSPARK’s founder with the goal of bringing this learning system to more than one million children by 2030.
