AprèsFlex 5-Day Joint Support has been the subject of extensive pre-clinical and clinical studies to understand its mechanism of action and its efficacy in supporting joint comfort and mobility.
Researchers examined the efficacy of AprèsFlex in supporting joint comfort and flexibility in a newly published randomized, double-blind clinical trial.1
Measurements included:
• Visual Analog Score (VAS)
• The Lequesne algofunctional index (LFI)
• The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC)
• Various serum biomarkers (MMP3, TNF, hsCRP, COMP, CPII, and C2C)
• Measurements were done on Days 0, 5, and 30
The study showed that AprèsFlex:
• Provided significant reduction (p<0.05) in all the pain scores at as early as five days when compared to the placebo
• Provided significant reduction (p<0.001) in all the pain scores when compared to baseline on day 30
Previous studies with AprèsFlex showed a 56% reduction in pain scores at 30 days. A similar study with AprèsFlex showed a 69% reduction in pain scores at 90 days.
Beyond joint comfort and flexibility improvements, AprèsFlex has also been shown clinically to impact biological markers associated with joint health and inflammation, including TNF-alpha, C-Reactive Protein (CRP), and Interleukin-6 (IL-6). It was also shown to significantly inhibit matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-3), an enzyme that breaks down cartilage, collagen, and connective tissue.
AprèsFlex is based on a proprietary Boswellia serrata gum resin extract you and your customers can be proud of. PLT Boswellia serrata materials are sourced in India from the states of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
PLT’s Boswellia serrata supply chain starts with collectors and aggregators who have worked with us for decades. These collectors are trained in sustainable gum tapping to maximize yield while maintaining the safety and health of the Boswellia serrata tree populations.
PLT has started a third-party sustainability audit program on Boswellia serrata trees in India by renowned botanical research consultancy Botanical Liaisons, LLC. The third-party audit program is based on abroad range of environmental, cultural and economic parameters
Over the last 25 years, PLT has worked with our innovation partner – Laila Nutraceuticals – to create an environment that can assure not only the highest quality ingredient with proven efficacy, but an ingredient that the people who sell it and buy it can be proud of.
When your customers purchase a product featuring AprèsFlex, they become part of a story that is both sustainable and socially responsible.
The starting point for AprèsFlex – Boswellia serrata – is a tree that produces Indian frankincense resin. AprèsFlex is selectively enriched to contain 20% Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) while reducing less active constituents. The bioavailability of AKBA from AprèsFlex was found to be significantly higher in comparison with that of other commercially available Boswellia extracts.
Boswellia serrata trees are native to much of India and the Punjab region that extends into Pakistan. In partnership with ingredient innovator Laila Pharmaceuticals, PLT is committed to the safety and fair treatment of the people who harvest AprèsFlex. We want to support the long-term health and well-being of the culture and the natural environment upon which it relies. For more information on our activities in these areas, visit our sustainability page.
Every batch of the AprèsFlex harvest is assigned a specific batch number and each batch of finished products is traceable to a specific region and set of trees. AprèsFlex is tested and must comply with predefined specifications for different parameters at various stages of product manufacturing – from raw materials to finished products. Quality is monitored by a multi-disciplinary organization with dedicated departments for taxonomy (botanical Identification), raw material analysis, chemical analysis, microbiology, and more.
