Evaluation of the hydrating effect of a food supplement

Citation: Boulay C, Marie D. Evaluation of the hydrating effect of a food supplement. Pilot study. 2003. Data on file.

Abstract: In a proof-of-concept pilot study, 40 women (mean age of 40.5 years) took ceratiq powder 80 mg per day for one month. Corneometry, dermatological evaluation, and self-assessment showed ceratiq to be well-tolerated at this dose, with a trend towards increased skin hydration, including improved skin on the legs (p = 0.15), improved skin softness (p=0.05), and a decrease in skin desquamation (p = 0.06). No adverse effects were reported. Researchers concluded that a higher daily intake of ceratiq would likely produce results that were more significant.
