Study Highlights
In the study, 120 healthy university students (age 18-21) were given a 100 mg or a 150 mg of Zynamite S or a matching placebo and then assessed three times over a 5 hour period. The study featured a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover design with a 7-day washout between testing conditions. Assessments were taken at baseline, 30 minutes, 3 hours and 5 hours.
Participants completed two Trail Making Tests for cognitive speed and mental flexibility. A Stroop Color and Word Test examined cognitive flexibility and inhibitory control. A Digit Substitution reviewed attention, working memory and processing speed. Rey’s Auditory Verbal Learning Tests (RAVLT) examined learning and recall, Finaly, a Profile of Mood States Test (POMS) was used to evaluate mood across six domains – including total mood disturbances, tension, and depression.
