ceratiq has been shown in clinical trials to hydrate skin in as little as 4 weeks.
Studies show that ceratiq reduces the visibility of wrinkles three times better than the placebo.
Visible wrinkle reduction was seen in nearly every woman in our clinical trial.
ceratiq was an Ingredient of the Year Award winner in Healthy Aging for Nutraingredients.

ceratiq has been the subject of five in vitro studies that demonstrated collagen synthesis, inhibition of collagenase, antioxidant activity, anti-elastase activity and restoration of the skin barrier. Since 2003, it has been the subject of six randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies and two open-label proof of concept clinical trials.
These studies are part of a research program unmatched in its breadth and quality in the phytoceramide category — with seven human clinical studies, hundreds of participants, research conducted at multiple independent laboratories and validated methodologies that produce credible, reproducible results.
In a 2026 clinical study of 60 women with sensitive skin confirmed by lactic acid stinging test, taking 350 mg ceratiq or placebo, ceratiq significantly reduced trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) and reduced erythema.
TEWL is an objective measure of the amount of water that escapes through the skin and is widely used to evaluate barrier integrity. Erythema was assessed using a standardized redness-scoring scale. After 90 days, ceratiq produced a significant improvement in erythema compared with both baseline and placebo, demonstrating that the benefits extended beyond subjective perceptions of sensitive skin.
The results show that ceratiq strengthens skin barrier function and reduces visible redness in people with sensitive skin. Preclinical research provides additional support for reduced skin-reactivity signaling, helping explain the benefits observed in the clinical study.

In a 2026 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 40 healthy women with dry to very dry skin, 350 mg/day ceratiq improved dermal density, skin hydration, firmness, and wrinkle appearance.
Dermal density was assessed using ultrasound, while firmness was evaluated using a Cutometer — instrumental methods that provide objective measures of changes in skin structure and mechanical properties, an assessment unique to ceratiq in the beaty-from-within category of dietary supplements. Improvements in dermal density were evident after 30 days and were significant compared with placebo at 90 days. Skin firmness was also significantly improved versus placebo at day 90, showing that the structural changes translated into a measurable functional benefit

A 2018 clinical featuring 64 women (average age 55.8 years old) focused on several anti-aging skin factors – most notably hydration and anti-wrinkle efficacy. The subjects received either 350 mg of ceratiq oil or the placebo for 12 weeks. In the ceratiq group, wrinkles were significantly and visibly reduced from 8 weeks (p < 0.001), compared to the placebo. The wrinkle reduction was visible for 88% of women after 12 weeks. The results demonstrated that skin was better hydrated after just 4 weeks. The persistence of gains in hydration and wrinkle reduction was demonstrated for two additional months after supplementation had concluded. Compared to the placebo, ceratiq was shown to offer 3 times the improvement in wrinkle visibility, 2.75 times the improvement in facial hydration and 5 times the improvement of radiance.

40 women (mean age of 40.5 years) took ceratiq powder 80 mg per day for one month. Corneometry, dermatological evaluation, and self-assessment showed ceratiq to be well-tolerated at this dose, with a trend towards increased skin hydration, including improved skin on the legs (p = 0.15), improved skin softness (p=0.05), and a decrease in skin desquaation (p = 0.06).

ceratiq is made from the lipid fraction of kernels of wheat - a specially cultivated, sustainably harvested non-GMO wheat grain grown in France and Europe. It has been selected for its lipid content and its compositional consistency.
PLT innovation partner Robertet has developed a high-tech 4-step process to create ceratiq. The first two steps consist of lipid extraction and protein separation. Part 3 and 4 are filtration and concentration operations resulting in the final product.
ceratiq is produced at a dedicated facility in Grasse, near the Mediterranean coast of France – the heart of the French perfume industry. The production site is ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certified. It is available in an organic version.
Every aspect of ceratiq’s production is evaluated with sustainability and social responsibility in mind – from the growing and harvesting of our wheat-based starting materials, to its production in our Grasse facility. Water and energy use are minimized in the process.
By-products from the ceratiq production process are being used in many important ways. Some of it is a source of protein in animal feed. More is up-cycled as wheat peptides in the production of shampoos.
ceratiq® quality is controlled by Robert’s laboratory and by independent laboratories in France and in the USA. To ensure a consistently high-quality product, the primary active ingredients – glucosylceramide, ceramides and DGDG – are continually analyzed by validated methodologies. Testing for pesticides and gluten-free conformity is also performed on every batch of ceratiq.
ceratiq is the only source of natural ceramides on the market with a New Dietary Ingredient on file with the U.S. FDA with the authorized claim “Helps maintain healthy skin hydration.” It is approved for sale in the demanding South Korean beauty market. The ingredient, which was named Ingredient of the Year in the Healthy Aging Category by Nutraingredients-USA in 2018.
